Who or What Is Your Optimal Self?

by Charles Wm. Skillas, PhD, DD, BCH, CI, FNGH, MCCHt

People with no apparent problems often come to me complaining of problems that are negatively affecting their lives. They will often say that they feel blocked, stuck, not feeling up to par mentally, emotionally, physically or spiritually. They can't put their finger on it, but something is wrong with their lives. It's not going the way they wanted it to. They take care of themselves and their families, eat the right foods, exercise, meditate, obey the law, are faithful in their relationships and generally live a good righteous life… But they are not happy. They're usually quite intellectual, have high IQs, analytical and self-reliant. They make a point of telling me that they are usually able to figure out the source of their problems and solve them, but that something is interfering with their ability to do that now. They ask for my help.

In trying to help them, I always go back to the fundamentals of how we function. The fact is that the creator created us perfect. Christian Scientists say that the creator is like a fountain that spews forth-beautiful fresh clean water… the same fountain cannot at the same time put out-dirty water. If the water in the fountain catch basin is dirty, it's dirty because dirt got into it after it came out of the fountain. So, we have to clean the dirt out of the basin in order to have fresh water there. The fountain water is good and fresh; it's the dirt in the water that contaminates the water, which is us.

The dirt in our water that's making us feel bad doesn't come from our Creator but rather from the negative forcing functions in our own lives. The fact that you're having problems resolving your difficulties comes from the circumstance that you're probably not the perfection that your Creator created any longer. Dr. Arthur Winkler, founder of St. John's University and world renowned expert on past life regression therapy (PLT), who was also my mentor, studied PLT for about 60 years. He concluded that on a 3-sigma confidence level, we tend to live about 2000 times before we return to the source, which is our Creator. In 2000 lifetimes, we can pick up a lot of bad stuff. This bad stuff is negative energy and it comes from the negative forcing functions in our lives. This negative energy modifies our innate energy, which is perfection and makes us into something that is not really our true self.

If we can clear out the negative energy that comes from the negative forcing functions, which reside in our subconscious self, we can pretty much approach our true self, which is our optimal self, the self that the creator created. When we are this optimal self we have the best opportunity to live an optimal life. In this life we have the best opportunity to know ourselves and to be able to resolve our own problems because we don't have so many interfering negative energies mixing in with our real energy. We are then essentially, our true optimal self and we are bereft of interfering negative energies and can make substantive decisions about our life.

So, if we want to live at the top of the heap, be the best we can be, we have to get rid of the negative forcing functions on our life, which are screwing up our ability to be our best and true self. Hypnotherapy, properly done, can get rid of negative forcing functions and restore you to your real self who is your best self, who is your optimal self. Once there, we can begin to live up to our potential and achieve the beautiful wonderful things for which we were created, which is to express our creator.
